By admin | No Comments

L’Institut de recherche et d’informations socio-économiques (IRIS) has launched its blog with first of a series of videos on each of the eight arguments of their brochure Do we really need to raise tuition fees?

All videos are available at http://www.youtube.com/IRISrecherche (in French)

Mythe # 1 – Les universitĂ©s sont sous-financĂ©es (Myth 1: Universities are underfunded)

A tuition hike is needed to replenish university coffers)

Mythe # 4 – La hausse permettra d’embaucher des profs (Myth 4: A tuition hike will allow universities to hire more faculty)

Mythe # 5 – L’aide financière aux Ă©tudes compensera pour la hausse des frais de scolarité (financial aid will offset the increase in tuition)

Mythe #6 – Les Ă©tudiant-es doivent payer leur juste part (Students should pay their fair share)

Mythe #7 – La hausse n’influencera pas la frequentation (Higher tuition fees will haveno impact on university participation)

Mythe #8 – Le gel ou la gratuitĂ© sont irrĂ©aliste (Frozen tuition fees and free education are unrealistic and potentially unfair measures.)
